In the first quarter of 2022, the Film & Television app market on Android in Brazil showcased interesting trends. Here’s a look at the performance of the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Cine Vision V4 saw a notable shift in weekly downloads, starting strong at over 585K in late December 2021, peaking at 702K in the first week of January, and then gradually declining to around 77K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar pattern, beginning at 2.2M and peaking at 2.4M in early January before tapering off to 1.95M by the end of the quarter.

HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $148K in the week of March 21. Weekly downloads fluctuated, starting at 294K, peaking at 403K in early January, and then declining to around 211K by the end of March. Active user numbers also showed variation, peaking at nearly 2M in late February before settling around 1.63M by the end of the quarter.

Amazon Prime Video had a modest revenue stream, averaging low single digits in thousands of dollars per week. Downloads started at 210K in late December, increased to 462K by mid-March, and then dropped to 271K by the end of the quarter. Active users began at 2.06M in late December, peaked at 2.21M in early January, and then gradually decreased to 1.71M by the end of March.

MEDIAFLIX Plus saw significant download numbers early in the quarter, starting at 456K in late December, peaking at 717K in early January, and then dropping consistently to about 68K by the end of March. Active users mirrored this trend, starting at 1.26M, peaking at 1.69M in early January, and then decreasing to 229K by the end of the quarter.

Finally, Netflix maintained a stable presence in the market. Weekly downloads remained relatively steady, hovering around 320K at the start of the quarter and ending at 264K. Active users started at 28.5M, saw a slight dip to 23.1M by the end of March, but generally maintained a strong user base throughout the quarter.
